Building for Eternity

Inspiration from text:
For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building. By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work. If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward.
... Explanation of the painting: The fields of yellow symbolize the ripe and plentiful harvest and the red, a covering by the shedding of martyr's blood among fellow workers with God. As distinctly dynamic movements of local churches of different nations, peoples, tribes and tongues or diverse Christian organizations, representated by the individual points and rays of yellow light, we light up the fields that are ripe for harvest. When we eventually move towards a single focus, symbolized by our merging into a brighter and singular pur pillar of white Light, we will find our sanctified place in the body of Christ, stronger and focused. Integrated as one, our cooperation not only intensifies our collective Mission, this unity in Jesus Christ ultimately builds up each individual ministry as well. Together, as the light of the Earth, we can shine and penetrate even the darkest of strongholds, embodied by the mountains. The background implies daylight, with impending twilight, urgining us to do the work of our Father while it is still day, for when night falls, no one can work. |
